Stanmore Shortlisted for ‘Heart of the Community’ at 2025 Bolton News Business Awards

We are delighted to announce that Stanmore Insurance Brokers, a leading commercial insurance broker has been shortlisted for the Heart of the Community Award at the 2025 Bolton News Business Awards. This recognition highlights our longstanding dedication to social responsibility, local partnership and positive impact.

Since bringing our Bolton based insurance business to the town in 2012, we have made it our mission to go beyond insurance – by investing in people, supporting local talent and creating opportunities that contribute to the wider economic and social regeneration of the region. With a team of 32, including 12 colleagues who live in Bolton, we continue to build a business where our people and our community thrive together.

Our commitment extends across education, enterprise, charity and inclusion. From sponsoring PhD research into SEND growth at the University of Greater Manchester to funding entrepreneurial awards for women through the Stepping Stone Award for SHE Inspires, where the winner receives a £1,000 cash prize from Stanmore plus a year’s mentoring we continue to support our local community. We are proud to mentor young girls through Girls Out Loud, believing that sustainable community development starts with meaningful action.

Our commitment to nurturing local talent is exemplified through stories of Iman and Akin – two exceptional University of Greater Manchester graduates who chose to stay in Bolton thanks to our sponsorship and career opportunities. By retaining local talent, we are actively contributing to the economic vitality of our town.

We are proud Patrons of BLGC, Backup NW and the Bereavement Café – providing not only financial support but also sharing our boardroom, our skills and time with local charities. Recent initiatives include a donation to Early Break Radcliffe to renovate a therapeutic space at their new premises, our annual charity car wash, supply of Xmas hampers and regular support to food banks. We sponsor the Bereavement Café annual charity lunch, hosted and funded 2 cafés. Our Managing Director, Jackie Hyde sits on the BLGC Fund Raising Committee and also 2 Advisory Boards at the University of Greater Manchester .  We sponsor Bolton Wanderers Football Club and have recently become the back of the shorts sponsor for the Bolton Wanderers Women’s Football team.

It is an honour to stand alongside other inspiring organisations who put community at the heart of business. We’re looking forward to the awards night on Friday 26th September at the Toughsheet Stadium, and to celebrating the power of purpose-driven enterprise in Bolton.

Thank you to everyone who supports us – clients, colleagues, partners and peers.
