At Stanmore, we believe in supporting causes that make a real difference in our community. That’s why we were proud to sponsor the recent Fortalice Peel Tower Abseil Challenge, which took place on Saturday 20th September 2025.

Despite the wet and windy weather, an incredible 33 participants faced their fears and abseiled 128ft down the historic Peel Tower in Ramsbottom. Their bravery and determination raised an outstanding total of £7,530 for Fortalice, the Bolton-based domestic abuse charity.

Fortalice provides frontline services for people who are, or have been, affected by domestic abuse in Bolton. Their work includes refuge accommodation for 22 families, outreach and community services, emotional support, advocacy, and education programmes. Last year alone, Fortalice supported over 2,200 individuals, giving them hope and the chance to rebuild their lives.

This event not only brought the community together but also highlighted the importance of raising awareness and funds for such vital services. We are honoured to have played a part in making the day possible and to stand alongside Fortalice in their mission to support victims and survivors of domestic abuse.
