Best achievement?

I am proud to come from a background where office work was not the norm and to be the first in my family to reach a senior level position, despite not having a formal degree or equivalent qualifications. My career has been built on hard work, perseverance, and the ability to learn from setbacks, which have shaped me into a stronger individual and given me a deep appreciation for every achievement. It is precisely because of this journey that I now dedicate time to serving on Insurance Institute Councils and charitable think tanks, particularly in low-income areas. By sharing my experiences, I aim to influence and inspire the next generation of talent—especially those who may not yet see the opportunities and rewards that a career in financial services can offer.

Favourite part of the job?

Working with people from a wide range of backgrounds has given me valuable insight into what motivates individuals and what helps them thrive. These experiences have not only deepened my understanding of others but also reinforced the importance of building for the future on strong, reliable foundations.

The variety in my role means I am learning something new every day, and no two days are the same. This, combined with a strong connection to our customers and colleagues, makes it a rewarding and supportive place to work.
